I am a red-eared slider turtle and I live in Green Frond with my mom. I live in a cave and it’s really cool.
I love collecting cool rocks. I also like playing with string. What do you like to play with?
I like to stay home and keep things the same, but Mom says it’s important to try new things. I know she’s right, but it is still hard for me. Is it hard for you, too?
In my story, Little Red Slider Steps Out, I have to decide if I will be brave enough to go to a new place. Have you ever been scared to try something new? Mom says it’s OK to be scared. When I am scared, a take a slow breath and count back from 5.

Guess what? I am writing a blog, just for kids. I will tell you about my adventures outside my cave. Mom says it’s important to keep calm when things are hard, and I am learning to do that. I can share my strategies with you if you want!
